Former St. Louis Blues general manager Ron Caron has died. He was 82. Nicknamed the "Old Professor," Caron was a longtime assistant GM for the Canadiens and helped build the Montreal teams that won Stanley Cups in 1971 and '73 and four straight titles from '76-'79. Caron was hired as GM in St.
