Former Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson continues to make waves in the pre-draft process as he moves up the boards of draft experts. ESPN’s Matt Miller put Robinson at 50th overall (subscription required) in his most recent draft board.
Robinson had a stellar 2024 season for the Huskers. All told, he recorded 37 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and seven sacks in 13 games. He was a multi-faceted player, recording four pass breakups, one block field goal, and one safety.
Robinson also turned heads at the NFL combine, running a 4.8 340-yard dash and jumping 33.5 inches. Now, Miller sees Robinson as a rising prospect.
"Robinson has enjoyed a rapid rise up the board during the pre-draft process thanks to his Senior Bowl week and combine performance. He is an ideal 5-technique for a 3-4 defense with the ability to slide inside on passing downs. Robinson is an ascending player who put his best tape together in 2024, showing improved quickness and awareness. While he doesn't have a top-tier pass-rush plan, he's an elite run defender."
It will undoubtedly be interesting to see where Robinson ends up. His athleticism and agility make him an intriguing defensive tackle prospect. Whoever lands him should be able to get an impact player. Robinson made waves at Nebraska, and now he will try to do the same in the NFL.
