The New York Giants have added a new weapon to their offense. On Friday, they signed former Longhorn Lil'Jordan Humphrey to a one-year deal. The Texas native spent the past two years catching passes from Russell Wilson and Bo Nix with the Denver Broncos. He will now be looking to make his mark in New York.

As the 26-year-old begins a new chapter, he is coming off his most productive NFL season. In 17 games last year, he set career highs in receptions with 31 and receiving yards with 293. He averaged 9.5 yards a catch and found the end zone once.

Over the last few years, Humphrey has bounced around a little. He spent the first three years of his career with the Saints before spending a year with the Patriots. After one year in New England, Humphrey became a model of consistency in Denver, appearing in 34 games in two years.

With Humphrey in the mix, the Giants have another veteran weapon to rely on. Their wide receiver room includes Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Wan'Dale Robinson. At the moment, they will be catching passes from Jameis Winston or Thomas DeVito. However, that could change as the Giants have the No.3 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Although Humphrey's statistics may not jump off the page, he was a very productive player in his college career. That included a stellar junior season in which he caught 86 passes for 1,176 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games. If he can flash some of that form made him successful In Texas, the Giants offense will be in good hands.

Regardless of who the quarterback is in Week One, the former Longhorn will be a weapon they can rely on.
