03/22/2006) DUSSELDORF, Germany - Arizona Cardinals running back Roger Robinson rushed for 103 yards on 26 carries this weekend in the Frankfurt Galaxy’s 10-6 loss to the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe.
Robinson recorded the only 100+ yard rushing day in NFL Europe as the league opened its 14th season last weekend.

Robinson rushed for 2,015 yards in two seasons at Northern Arizona University, finishing his career seventh on the NAU career rushing list. Robinson was in the Cardinals 2005 training camp as an undrafted rookie free agent but was released prior to the start of the regular season. He was re-signed by the Cardinals on January 5, 2006.

The problem is he fumbled three times. His last fumble cost them the game.
I would take Damien Anderson over him any day of the week.

The only problem with DA is his size. They don't feel he is big enough to stand up to the pounding a RB gets.

Skill wise he is quite reasonable

Anderson (if he makes the final roster) will be nothing more than a depth RB and as such will get limited touches.

Robinson today has 91 yards and it is only the second quarter. He is definately holding on to the ball today too.

Archie Amerson

Tiger-Cats cut loose Amerson

Fan favourite Archie Amerson won't be making a comeback this summer with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The speedy slotback, who missed all of the 2005 Canadian Football League season with nerve damage in his left knee, was released on Wednesday.

Amerson, who had an option in his contract for 2006, was a go-to guy for most of his eight years with the Tiger-Cats.

The 31-year-old finished third on the Ticats with 894 receiving yards on 47 catches in 2004, missing the final four games of the season with a torn knee ligament that required arthroscopic surgery.

Amerson led Hamilton in receiving yardage in 2003 (960) and 2002 (984).

He attracted attention in his rookie CFL season of 1997, hauling in 40 passes for 414 yards and one touchdown. Amerson also rushed for 630 yards and four touchdowns.

The five-foot-eight-inch, 175-pounder was nominated for league rookie of the year honours, eventually bowing to Toronto's Derrell (Mookie) Mitchell.

Amerson went on to win a Grey Cup with Hamilton in 1999 and enjoyed his best season in 2000 with a career-high 1,198 reception yards.

He also finished with 2,513 combined yards that year, good for second in the CFL.

In his pro career, Amerson has caught 436 passes for 6,298 yards and 37 touchdowns in 123 games. He has totalled 1,654 rushing yards on 356 carries for a 4.6-yard average.

at the half, Roger "The Rabbit" Robinson has 10 carries, about 110 yards with a TD, and a catch for about 20 yards
I watched him closely. He displayed a versatile arsenal of weapons. Most of those yards were between the tackles. Though I remember one that was a pretty slant off tackle for a 1st down, most were on cutbacks off stretch plays. And there were at least two plays where he got around the corner and gained significant yardage. That one catch out of the backfield was pretty to see. And on the TD play, once he hit the secondary, he outran everyone

The thing I liked about him was (a) he'd keep his head up, (b) he'd see the hole and then (c) accelerate thru the hole with low COG and absolutely no indecision. And he made great cutback decisions.

By contrast, his backup (#33) on the Galaxy seemed to always run upright into the line and go nowhere over and over.

It's obvious Robinson knows how to run (something not always characteristic of a few other young Cardinal RB's).
