On Monday, word quietly spread through the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference: Buffalo’s sophomore guard, Anquan Boldin Jr., will visit Iona University on Tuesday.
The son of NFL icon Anquan Boldin Sr., Boldin Jr. entered the NCAA transfer portal on March 24.
He started all 31 games for the Bulls in 2024-25 and averaged 7.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest on 50 percent shooting.
Boldin Jr. arrived at Buffalo in 2023 from Florida’s IMG Academy, where he logged 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, and one block per outing in his final high school season.
His official visit to New Rochelle, N.Y., was announced on X via The Portal Report.
Over two campaigns with the Bulls, he amassed 49 starts in 53 games, playing 27 minutes per night and establishing himself as a reliable two-way combo guard.
As one of only two Bulls to start every game last season, the other being senior guard Tyson Dunn, Boldin Jr.'s consistency made him an attractive portal prospect with two years of eligibility remaining.

Boldin Jr. also carries a famous surname.
His father, Anquan Boldin Sr., is a Super Bowl XLVII champion, 2003 Offensive Rookie of the Year, three-time Pro Bowler and 2015 Walter Payton Man of the Year.
He finished his NFL career with 1,076 catches for 13,779 yards and 82 touchdowns over 14 NFL seasons.
The Gaels closed the 2024-25 season at 17–17 (12–8 MAAC), finishing in a fourth-place tie under coach Tobin Anderson, who has since been replaced by Dan Geriot.
They averaged 69.7 points per game but allowed 70.5, highlighting the need for backcourt reinforcement.
