Former North Oconee pitcher Bubba Chandler is bringing the heat.

Last Thursday, during a game between the Pirates and Phillies top prospects, Chandler hit 100 mph on the radar gun, a milestone mark few in the history of the game have achieved.

The pitch came on his final pitch of the game, a strikeout of Phillies' infielder Otto Kemp.

Chandler started and pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts. The Pirates fell 5-3.

The lanky right-handed hurler is the Pirates' top prospect and is expected to reach the major leagues this season while beginning the year in Class AAA Indianapolis.

He led North Oconee to the 2022 Class 4A state championship.
