Former Tennessee wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. has found a new home in 2025.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Jones Jr. signed with the Saints.

"Wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. is signing with the Saints, per source," Fowler announced. "Former third-round pick by Chicago was last with Carolina."

Other former Vols who are currently with the New Orleans include running back Alvin Kamara and defensive back Alontae Taylor.

Jones Jr. was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft by Chicago (No. 71 overall).

He was primarily used as a return specialist in his first two seasons in Chicago, but Jones Jr. made the Bears' roster as a running back in 2024 before his release.

Jacksonville added Jones Jr. to its practice squad on Oct. 29, 2024. Carolina signed the former Vol to their roster on Dec. 10, 2024 from the Jaguars' practice squad.

Jones Jr. transferred to Tennessee from USC ahead of the 2020 season. He made a noticeable improvement in 2021, totaling 807 receiving yards, seven receiving touchdowns and one kick return touchdown.
