Former West Virginia center Rob Summers has been named the head coach at Cleveland State.
The move brings Summers back to Cleveland State where he was an assistant coach from 2019-22 where he served as the offensive coordinator for the Vikings.
Most recently Summers had been serving as an assistant coach at Missouri where he was the team's offensive coordinator and worked directly with the post players.
Prior to that Summers was at Miami (Oh.) for two seasons as the associate head coach and also spent time as an assistant coach at James Madison, three years as the head coach of Division II Urbana (Ohio) and two years at Glenville State as associate head coach.
Summers spent two years at West Virginia as a player from 2005-07 after transferring over from Penn State. As a senior, Summers averaged 4.4 points and 4.6 rebounds.
Welcome BACK to Cleveland @RobSummers33!
Excited to introduce Rob Summers as the 18th Men's Basketball Head Coach in program history!
