Elite class of 2026 defensive end recruit Rodney Dunham, cut his top schools list down to five schools and the Georgia Bulldogs made the cut along with South Carolina, Tennessee, Duke and Notre Dame.
Ranked a four-star recruit, Dunham is the nation's No. 33 player, fourth-best edge, and North Carolina's third-best recruit, per 247Sports. Though Georgia offered last May, South Carolina led Power Four programs in pursuit. Dunham is close to being ranked as a five-star recruit. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound defensive end plays high school football for Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dunham's initial list included Ohio State, Alabama, and Florida State, but those programs are no longer in his top group. Georgia, with its track record of producing NFL-ready defenders, is heavily pursuing him. Kirby Smart pitch to Dunham could revolve Nolan Smith, Mykel Williams, and Jalon Walker who could all be first round NFL draft picks.
As for the 2026 class, Georgia has only one defensive line commit is Seven Cloud from JUCO. Getting some more defensive line help in the 2026 recruiting cycle will be critical for UGA. Dunham could help shape the Georgia defensive line for years to come for the Bulldogs.
