Now that the playoffs are out of the question, it's time to look at the summer. Here is the Free Agent List for this off-season.

sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FreeAgents-09-10

I think we should make a run for:
Jarret Jack of Indiana
Navarro of Memphis
Moon of Miami
Sessions of Milwakee
Lee of NY
Re-sign Amundson and Hill
Milsap of Utah
and Thomas of Washington

What do you think? Take people off the list? Add others?

Oh, and Birdman (Anderson) from Denver. Just for Kicks.

Resign Amudson, Duds(maybe Hill too)
Go after Ariza, Artest, Sessions, and Lee
Try to trade Shaq for some and nice role players that can defend
Trade J-Rich for some nice draft picks(sorry, but J-Rich is not what this team needs)
Determine if we extend Nash and Amare

There aren't a ton of guys worth going after this offseason. Trade Shaq, Nash, JRich and build around Amare and LB. Amare coming off eye surgery won't get you much of anything, so you may as well hang onto him. Resign Dudley and Amundson to cheap deals, try to stockpile picks (both 1st and 2nd round) through trades, and fill out the roster with players on cheap deals.

Suck it up next year and try to win the Ricky Rubio sweepstakes and maybe convince some mid level FA's (LeBron, Wade, Bosh, et al aren't coming here) to sign with us.

With all the teams pinching pennies for 2010, there's a good chance that a solid player could be had for the MLE. The only problem is that the Suns won't be adding that type of salary unless they cut some major salary (Nash) this offseason, and with the latest rumor that doesn't appear to be likely.

Sessions and Lee are both restricted, but if either could be stolen for the MLE, we would be stupid to pass it up. Ariza on the other hand isn't worth anything more than the MLE, but he would be a solid pick-up for that price to replace Hill and Barnes at the 3 and add much needed defense. There are a lot of nice restricted free agents available; it will be interesting if teams will match or decline and wait for 2010.

Marvin Williams
Paul Millsap
Leon Powe
Brandon Bass (unrestricted)
Leinas Kleiza
Jarret Jack
Chris Wilcox
Marcin Gortat (unrestricted)

all peak my interest.

How do u win Ricky Rubio sweepstakes if Thunder has your pick?

Bottomline, Suns tank next season = Top 5 pick = Ricky Rubio = Thunder happy and thanks Suns for the pick and their team is complete for the next decade.

Suns compete this season = No pick 2010 Pick 15-20 = Some project = Thunder still happy but not as happy as above.

I'd like to get Gortat - he'd fit well with Amare. Good rebounder and strong as an ox. He doesn't have to play in the low post, either, as he has a decent mid range shot. I wished for him when our second round pick was used to draft him 2,3 years ago.

Ah yes, I remember the Suns sold the pick.

It would nice if we could pick up Ariza. He's a tough kid who can play some serious D. Since we're probably losing Hill this offseason, having a platoon of Ariza and Dudley at the three would be an excellent choice that would bring some much needed defense to this team.

I'd like us to get either Kleiza, Millsap or Gortat to help us up front and have Ariza start at the three. We could resign Barnes if the price is right allthough I think I'd rather have his minutes go to Dudley and Grant Hill. We should get what we can now and don't put all our bets on 2010.

Ariza would be a great pick up for Phoenix. Obviously, I'm praying he stays in LA, losing him would be a blow to the Lakers. If the Lakers don't get him signed, Phoenix would be nuts not to pursue him. Not only can he score, but he's a tenatious defender as well. My gut says he stays a Laker, but you never know. His stock is way up and he might not want to be a bench player anymore. Of course, if the Lakers don't resign Odom, he'll probably be the new starter in LA.

Back on the DraftExpress 2009 mock draft, after a four month stint where he was projected for 2010. Sources close to the situation indicate that Rubio’s family is now in favor of him entering this year, and that will almost certainly be on the early-entry list when it’s released on April 27th. His buyout still needs to be negotiated, which is easier said than done, but a final decision on whether to stay in likely won’t come until very close to the pull-out deadline, on June 19th. Unlike college players who are bound by the more restrictive NCAA rules, International players can enter the draft up to three times, which gives him plenty of wiggle room.

1. bankybruce was faster than me
2. Navarro will never return to the NBA. He will stay in spain where he earns a big paycheck.
3. We don't have any money to spend on FAs at all except the veteran minimum.
4. We need to pay our lottery pick unless they are dumb enough to trade it away to save the money.
