Can anybody recommend a site now that Yahoo has done away with Yahoo pics. I have the google site but I really don't like it, requires others to sign up and download picasa they can't just go there and see your pics. I signed up for Flickr which is what Yahoo switched to but it's horrible, the upload feature is incredibly slow, took 3 hours to upload pics last night, it won't upload them into separate folders so all my pics got uploaded into one name.

I've been trying to organize them this morning but again it's awful, has a drag and drop feature which in theory is great, but I keep getting bugs where you try and drag and instead it tries to open every pic at once, and locks up your IE and you have to end IE which of coure results in all your organizing not being saved. Major pain in the butt.

I switched mine over to Shutterfly the other day (mostly because of the supposedly unlimited capacity), but I will probably go back to Webshots. I joined Webshots a long time ago and they add capacity to your account each month, so I have a lot of space. I like their slideshow feature more than the others.

I agree about Google...you'd think they'd be a leader here, but they're not.

I'm surprised you don't like Flickr, it seems like it's insanely popular.

It could be a my computer thing, I loaded it onto flickr from my camera and my girlfriends using her laptop. So the speed issue may have been partly on her laptop too.

The drag and drop feature to organize sounds cool but it doesn't work very well. I eventually figured you just have to hold down shift and click on pics to highlight them and then you can drag them all at once. That sped it up but I still had it hang once because it's too sensitive and tries to open all the highlighted pics at once.

I eventually got it done but I much preferred the Yahoo site the old way before they merged with Flickr.

I know Kodak has some site too that I've been sent links to and that works but I've never loaded my own pics on there.

I'm mainly trying to find one I like before we go to Australia in February because I'm going to take a TON of pics there and I don't want to come back and have the same issues when I upload them.

flickr has an uploader that you can use to do all that stuff. Just name your folders and it will upload that way. Takes no time, and runs in the background.

I use Picassa.

You don't have to download Picassa to view the pictures you only have to load it to perform certain operations.

is this is in the free part or pay? I used the free part with the uploader, it didn't give me any options to load pics into different folders etc it just loads them all and then you go into organizer to move them around.

It took nearly 2 hours to upload all my pics and then 90 minutes to upload
277 pics from my girlfiriends' camera. I think that may actually be the fault of her laptop, I talked to a friend at work who rolled his eyes when I told him that and said I think it's your laptop speed.

Oh, maybe it is pay...I paid the $20 or whatever it was for the yearly subscription. Maybe it is a paid option.
