Yesterday morning I was checking out Craigslist electronics section looking for ceiling speakers. I saw an ad that had just gone up, they were selling the HDDVD player (not working) and 10 movies for $20! I called immediatly and went and picked it up.
Of course it was great to get the movies for $20, but I thought I might be able to do something with the player too. I discovered that the guy had the player for 3 months and thought it was out of warranty. He had tried to do a firmware update and something happened making it freeze on the welcome screen. I called Toshiba this morning and they authorized a new replacement be sent to me. So I just sent off the old one for under $20 and should get a new one in the next few weeks.
