The sharp sounds of power tools clashing with sheet metal and steel rang around the concourses of Doak Campbell Stadium as renovations of Florida State football's home continue.

Members of the media, including the Tallahassee Democrat, were invited to tour the stadium's ongoing renovations on Saturday. New club seats, concourses and seatbacks are coming with the renovation to Doak's west side of the stadium, alongside recently announced new video boards and two jumbotrons.

Among the dust and debris of construction, the view of the west sideline club seats will take those sitting there within earshot of the Seminoles' home bench. Social areas, bars and concession stands line the concourses of the west side of the stadium, with those who purchase club level packages getting access to private bars.

The renovations also include a new VIP entrance that will bring fans into the west side concourses under a new sign reading "Doak Campbell Stadium."

FSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford told reporters that the renovations to the stadium will "enhance" the gameday experience for fans.

With a projected completion timeline of July, construction crews are currently working 24 hours to ensure the completion of the project ahead of the kickoff of the 2025 season against Alabama.

Once total renovations are finished, the stadium is expected to hold 60,000-70,000 fans, nearly a 10,000 decrease from the previous capacity. Seating at Doak was slashed from 79,560 to 55,000 for the Seminoles' 2024 football season while construction was ongoing.

The renovations included 2,400 west side patio seats, eight founders' loge boxes − approximately 1,000 square feet − a renovated champions club, and the west side chairback seating options.

Of the seating options, the founders suites and loges, Dunlap Champions Club and west sideline club are all sold out. Both the west side chairback and bleacher seats are still being sold, with sales recently starting. Chairbacks are 40% sold and bleachers are 50% sold.

Further changes include more bathrooms, with both men's and women's restrooms increased, and more concession options.

Previously, the stadium held a ratio of 1:90 men to restrooms and 1:78 for women on the 1st floor concourse, with the renovations bringing a 1:30 ratio for men and 1:31 for women.

The upper concourse restroom ratio went from 1:138 for men and 1:78 for women to 1:81 for men and 1:53 for women.

The Seminoles equipment tunnel was also expanded, with eight rows of seating taken out to accommodate it.

The new tunnel allows for equipment trucks to pull in and out of the stadium, crucial for Alford's vision of hosting other events like concerts and motocross.

Panels of the old Jumbotrons have been stripped from the stadium, alongside the thousands of feet of video boards.

Renovations to the multimedia components of Doak aren't expected to be lengthy, and both will be completed by the July completion timeline.
