Again, hopefully, this means he never plays here again. Hallelujah!

Never really thought it too possible of that happening, but with Keim these days who knows?

Gabbert was a major disappointment here. Cards really gave him a chance and he was awful.

wow I didn't think he or Stanton would be signed until well into training camp, but good for them I guess.

It might help in the formula for comp picks next year. May not matter as we have signed quite a few

Don't think there is any hatred of him just disappointment on how he played. Many of us were calling for him to be the starter when Palmer went down.
He was a 3rd string vet minimum contract free agent who got almost zero reps in our offense and had to jump in with a HORRIBLE line, 2nd string RB and 1 WR. Stanton knows this system better than anyone not named Arians and Gabbert was still better than him.

Gabbert seemed to decline over time with us. It was at least nice to see him get an upset win over the Jags.

I don't wish him poorly, he was a third stringer and played as well as anyone could hope for his bare minimum contract.

I had high hopes for Gabbert when the Cards signed him. If he had consistent success, he would have answered the QB dilemma. With our army of old school coaches and BA's love to tutor QBs, I had my fingers crossed that we would be the staff/team to get him squared away and turn him into our starting QB. Instead, he played up to his career stats when given his opportunity to seize the day. So much for BA's statement that Gabbert could be our starter this year.

He flashes enough to keep him in the league. QB talent is so limited he will be around for years holding a clipboard.

No anger or bad comments. Just sorry it didn't click. Best of luck to him (and Stanton and Barkley) as they continue their NFL journey.

Right? What were people really expecting?

I think people were responding to those who (somehow) thought Gabbert had starter potential and was/could be better than Carson Palmer. Turned out he couldn't even be good once people saw him for 5 minutes.

Gabbert was a very highly paid Max Hall.

Is the vet minimum really that much more than the 26 year old rookie free agent minimum?
