USC must really be sweating now. Last year a guy I know who is prett well connected said the only reason Pruitt didn't declare was that his grades were so bad he knew if he declared, he'd fall so far behind that if he tried coming back, he'd miss the whole season anyways. True enough he had to do summer school and first semester to get eligible for the 2nd semester. Like Farmar and Afflalo last year, Pruitt has to drop to part time student status while he's working out for scouts. If he decides to come back, he may wind up ineligible again if his grades aren't good enough. The same guy told me USC was really trying to get Gabe to stay because they're terrified he won't be eligible next year if he declared.
Assuming he takes care of the school I think it's the right decision, test the waters, no agent and see what happens. With him having to wait on Mayo's NCAA clearance, he has no idea if he'll be the starting PG or splitting with Mayo. He and Afflalo were teammates in HS(2 years), he and Young were always compared to Afflalo and Farmar, they're all in the league you just know if he can, he'll go too.
Should be interesting, I think he'll stay at SC but I'm told alot of people think he's a first rounder.
