As a big Michigan fan, I have followed Gabe his entire career. The scouting reports are accurate. When he wants to play he can be unstoppbale. Other times he disappears on the field. Off the field he is a super young man. He visited the Motts Children's hospital in Ann Arbor on a weekly basis. He befriended a young boy with terminal cancer. He gave the young boy his big ten championship ring off his finger. The parents said that Gabe just kept on visiting their son, making his final days very special. If his work at the senior bowl is an indication how he will do without the stress and distraction of College classes, I think we got an absolute steal.

Don't like the lazy tag. Nor do I like he didn't play well in games but was awesome in Senior Bowl workouts. We need a football player.

What is wierd is I saw and heard commentator talk about how great he was in limited space and a high end motor, but that didn't always happen in games. I was always confused how you could have both laziness and a non-stop motor. At the very LEAST, he is a 2-gap plugger. And we can use one for short yardage situations. At best, he is a monster. Great pick in the fourth. Reminds me of Brown last year.

Do not confuse laziness with Endurance issues.

If he is only called on to play 15-20 snaps a game you will not see a player who looks lazy.

Almost all DTs especially the two gappers get the label thrown at them, deserved or not (heck even Ngata got labeled with that and he went 12).

It's hard for a guy that big to not look lazy. It's not fair to question every big guy's effort because he's leaning against 2 300+ pound guys while a 250 LB gets to run around mostly unimpeded.

He should also do a good job preventing cut back lanes that RBs like Alexander are so successful with. That's one of the nice things about a DT who holds the line instead of getting pushed back or penetrating too far.

i am certain we will see a five man rotation at the tackle positions...this SHOULD make everyone look a whole lot better!! i am from chicago and listening to talk radio as i am writing this...a lot of callers are ready to jump off sears tower...the bears did not address their offense and really only addressed their special teams....for whatever it's worth

Well, the summary I heard was he wasn't even the most valuable DL on his own team. Actually, I am more impressed with game play than someone who did well in the Senior bowl workouts. Saw Michigan play twice last year and although I didn't focus on him I don't recall him dominating anything.
