Gambo and Ash quit and today was their last show. Said they opted out of their contract to pursue other options. WTF?????? I thought they were one of the only good shows in town. Anyone heard anything about why they quit?
No, haven't heard a thing. I went to college with Asher (he dated my now sister in law a couple of times) and he's a good guy.
Interested in finding out more..
What... the.... hell????
Vegas Odds on Gambo and Ash winding up on the new KTAR sports talk radio station
2 to 1.
Wow... if this is true, the Valley is officially the WORST city in the nation when it comes to Radio Sports Talk... Not that these two were spectacular - far from it, but they were informed, objective and solid...
This could really SUCK!
That's exactly what I was thinking. SDJ, I believe your in the radaio industry...... Do you think they would have non-compete clauses in their contracts? I hope they stay in the valley
Bickley and MJ are good. Otherwise, you're spot on.
Dude - you aren't serious are you?? Dickley and Jerky are "good"??? Those two have to be, bar none, two of the worst sports talkl personalities I have ever heard. They redefine SUCK!

Well, compared to a guy who seemingly hates everything Phoenix and the random assortment of crap golf shows, hunting shows and shows where the hosts are more interested in knowing your hometown than they are what your opinion of sports is, I'd say they're good. Then again, I have low standards I guess.
I also like "The Positive Side Of Sports".

Gambo and Ash were probably the best local sports talk show, except for Gambo's NYC homerish. I'm sorry 82 but for those of us that didn't grow up in New York it grows thin very quickly. The majority of us could care less and it turned a lot of people off.
The shake up in local radio is going to be interesting and much needed.
That's a good question.
Now a days, in the radio industry especially, non-compete clauses are more of a pain in the ass to encorporate when it comes to contract negotiations than they're actually worth.
If they do have one, it's easily breakable.
