Two straight walks to start the game, then a long fly
which was close to being a HR. Then a strikeout. And
a foul popup.

Not a reassuring start for Kelly.

A triple for Marte (he is amazing) and a groundout by Peralta
and the D-backs grab a 1-0 lead.

And Kelly starts the top of the 2nd
giving up a home run.

This one went the few extra feet.

We saw it coming. Tie game.

A double drives in another run in the 3rd. Runners on 2nd & 3rd.

2-1 Phillies. Then a blooper that Marte couldn't make a sliding catch
on and it's 3-1. He got a bad start on it.

The domino effect. Kelly's lack of pitching skill will now put pressure
on the bullpen.

Yeah he's bad, doubt he's in the rotation next season, definitely the weakest link in the rotation.

Might not even get to the end of this season in the rotation. The way he is going he might be on the Godley Express.

Merill Kelly bats better than he pitches. He walks.

And the Freight Train doubles him to 3B. One out.

Escobar drives him in with a sac fly.

Peralta out trying for 3B to end the inning on
a hesitation play with the throw to the plate..

Bob Brenley faulted Peralta on the play. He was
already in scoring position with two outs.

3-2 Phillies.

And Kelly gives up a leadoff double to start the 4th.

A sacrifice by the pitcher batting 8th gets him to 3B.

A bunt to Lamb at 3B, who BB said took too much
time, and it's a base hit. Runners on 1B & 3B.

And the run scores on a ground ball. Now 4-2.

Each team seems to be picking at each other
and the Phillies are picking better. :)

It is not a comfortable game to watch.

So far, skill is not the determining factor.

Merril Kelly is going to give up at least 4-5 runs every start.

OT: Bellinger hits another HR today. I think its obvious this dude is juicing and has been juicing for quite sometime now. However, MLB roid testing policy is a joke.

Ketel Marte has been crushing like never before...he on roids?

Not defending Bellinger just trying to see where you are coming from.

Lamb has got to go...
We'd be a better team without him. Escobar wouldn't be shuffled between 3B and 2B.
There'd be no need to shuffle Marte between CF and 2B. Our two legitimate lead-off
hitters both play CF and could split the position. Walker and Lamb wouldn't be
breathing down each other's neck at 1B. Four inconsistent positions, with the
same at Catcher. Avila has been getting too many starts to be called a backup.

The less Torey can mess around with his players, the more they would know their
roles and the greater the chance the D-backs could become consistent winners.

Meanwhile, the two newbies., Scott and Ginkel, come in to relieve and the Phillies get
another run. But no major problems. 5-2 Phillies entering the bottom of the 7th.

Maybe, I know the drug testing in the MLB can be beat rather easily.

Ginkel back out to pitch the top of the 8th
with the Catcher having made the last out.

A leadoff single for the Phillies. And Ginkel
is pulled. Now it's McFarland.

And he makes a wild pickoff throw to 1B
and the runner is on 3B with no one out.

A single makes it 6-2.

D-backs are weak on fundamentals.
