Anyone watching this series on The History Channel? I just watched the episode about the Blackstone Rangers. They were an enormous gang that controlled much of Southside Chicago in the 60's. They even conspired with the Libyan government in the 80's on a terrorism plot.

Interesting show.

Just finished the one with the disciples the other day and started the one with the two mexican gangs in california (NF and the mexican mafia). It amazes me how well organized these gangs are. They're like little mini militaries.

definitely - watched the one on the united blood nation in the northeast (primarily NYC)

kind of sad and shameful the way some of these people choose to apply themselves - the top level code always seems to be a sham - but the organization adn the way they are able to pretty much keep people in line and executing their vision is impressive

Just finished the one about MS-13. 100,000 members strong, that's a little scary. I think it said they were in 40+ states, which likely means they're here in AZ since they're a central american gang.

Looks like that's it for the season. I really hope they bring this show back. I watch a lot of history channel shows and this has definitely been my favorite.

??

I watched the one on MS-13 a little while back and I thought there was a new one on the DVR. Maybe I am mistaken.

Looks like they already started season 2 though.

I just watched the one on the MLD. Apparently they operated mostly in a park just a couple of miles from downtown. I'm not sure which gangs concern me the most. The organized military type, or the unorganized all-for-yourself type.

I saw that my dvr just recorded a San Fransisco episode.

I finally got to the Phoenix episode. It took them 86 episodes to get to Phoenix, which is good news.

I was a little disappointed at how this show evolved. Instead of giving a broad overview of the span and logistics of how each gang operated they started to focus on a few specific individuals in the gang. I'm more interested to learn about how the gang operates than all the brutal crap that happens.

Not really Arizona is actually a really scary place. You realize all those California gangs are here to, EME(the Mexican mafia) 18st. I think it's something like 60% of the cocaine that comes to the united States comes through Arizona. Were also number two in the world for kidnapping or missing persons, only mexico city had a higher rate. They got a problem with you, you just disappear.

Those guys getting there heads cut off one with a chainsaw and the other with a knife were from here. Family reported them missing turned up a fee weeks later online getting there heads cut off by the Sinaloa cartel for snitching.

It always amazed me how two worlds could go on side by side

I have no idea how bad things really are here in AZ. I don't watch local news, so I'm probably missing all sorts of crazy stuff going on.

I was just going by what I saw on the show and AZ seemed much more tame than California or big cities in the southeast and Texas.

I'm not sure I believe that kidnapping stat. AZ might be one of the leading states, but there's no way we come close to places in South American and the Middle East.

It doesn't make the news. Hell I got cousins that have been killed and not one made the news. Things are bad all over the southwest. Look at what the Aryan brotherhood is doing in Texas that kind of stuff is unheard of in the american gang world
