Garza to Rangers per Ken Rosenthall

According to Ken Rosenthall on Twitter, the Rangers will acquire SP Matt Garza from the Cubs in exchange for IF Mike Olt, Single A RHP C.J. Edwards and a third player.

Olt and Rizzo, with Castro at SS gives the Cubs a very formidable IF potentially..

He's only pitched 3.1 innings this year, 33 total in his career, with career ERA of 6.57.

Probably no-hit the Dbacks.

On one hand, the Rangers do have the money to sign Garza long term so I suspect this isn't a rental. However, they gave a fair amount to get him. Supposedly Neil Ramirez is another player going to Wrigley. You mix this deal with the idiotic Dempster deal and how little they took back from Chicago for Barrett Loux, and gotta figure the Cubs have been put in a good spot thanks to Jon Daniels.

Garza is decent. He'll upgrade the Ranger staff. However, he also has injury issues and isn't always consistent.
