At one point Detroit had only 1 point in ten possesions in the final minutes of a close game. They were actually looking like they were going to win until about 3 minutes left when noone on the team could throw a pea in the ocean! On some good looks, too!! Again, a guy like Melo would have put some points on the board or would have opened things up for other guys. When you know only 1 guy can hit a jumper on Detroit, they just pack the lane and guard Rip on the outside. Tayshawn Prince better than Melo? NOT! It's just so frustrating watching a team, when you know they could have drafted a guy who would have helped them win the Eastern Conference, but drafted a guy who couldn't help them win the Eastern Block!

Tayshawn Prince better than Melo?

Has anyone on this message for never said that Tayshaun Prince is better than Carmelo Anthony? I'm pretty sure I haven't said anything like that. I may have said that Prince is better on defense. That's true. He is significantly better than Anthony on defense is by his light frame.

I thought Yuma was referring to the Pistons liking Prince better than Anthony, not someone saying that here?

The debate was over Melo versus Darko. The debate was whether taking a really promising big man or a mid sized guy who could contribute right away is the best choice. This year at least, that is no contest in that Melo might have been the difference.

Obviouly if Darko turns into a star, everyone will say Dumars was brilliant, etc. But it is not certain Larry Brown will even be coaching the team by that time.
