One league source says the 6-11 Curry, hampered briefly by a mildly strained right hamstring, is 35 pounds over the 285-pound target weight the team has set for him.

when Curry tipped the scales this week, he weighed 320 pounds. Now he's back with Grover and also working out at the Berto.

''We don't have much time, but we're going to try to make a whole lot of progress in a short period, and hopefully Eddy is dedicated to it,'' Grover said. ''If he does not get it in the next four weeks, it's not going to happen.

Good news from Paxson regarding Tyson Chandler though...

''Tyson has been a model of consistency all summer. He has actually exceeded what we had hoped for.

After a promising start to an important off-season, Eddy Curry has stopped working out at the Berto Center and frustrated Bulls management with his inaccessibility. Curry hasn't shown up at the Berto Center since straining his hamstring on July 13, the first day of a three-day mini-camp for summer league. Recent attempts to contact Curry failed, prompting team officials to enlist his representation to find him. They, too, came up empty, team sources said. Curry was said to be traveling to a family function in Texas. A source close to Curry claims that the fourth-year center has returned to Chicago and resumed his workouts at Hoops The Gym with noted trainer Tim Grover.

Casey
Zarko
Eisley
Their top3 protected 2005 pick
Rights to Milos

for

Curry
Robinson (basically same contract as Eisley)

Works under the cap. Bulls add some pieces while the Suns don't give up anything of their core for a gamble on Curry. It is not like Zarko, Casey or Eisley will get any minutes anyway if this team is healthy.

A change of scenery might actually help Curry a lot.

Overall I don't like the trade idea. Curry has a questionable work ethic and a questionable attitude. Also, I doubt they'd want the rights to Milos since they have Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, Jannero Pargo & Chris Duhon.

Another note is that it looks like this is the last year on Eddie Robinson's contract according to RealGM. I don't know if he has a player or team option, but it would basically get rid of Eisley's contract a year sooner.

Interesting idea Slin. Chicago may bite at it, although it looks like a lot to give up on the hope Curry rebounds.

I think he is one of the guys that might need to relocate. Perhaps playing in his home town is a little to much of a distraction for him?

If we want an overweight center with some skills, why not bring back Oliver Miller? He's a free agent and at least he'd be cheap. :D

It's just that there aren't a lot of big guys with loads of potential whose team is getting tired of them.

I'm not sure that Eddy Curry has hit rock bottom quite yet, though--wait a little longer and he'll be even cheaper. :p Besides, he's a poor fit with Amare and the other Suns, and I doubt he'll ever live up to his vaunted "potential".

Fortunately, Curry is in a great position to help the Suns while wearing a Bulls uniform.

man you people overvalue our players . . .

that collection had negligible value. curry is still considered to have upside. chicago would NEVER do that deal. it's laughable. sorry to be the voice of reason.

To be fair, you overvalue most players that aren't on our team.

hmm, i don't really think that's true. who have i overvalued? i was high on signing kobe and trading for tmac. i didn't want any of the stiff centers that were available. i was interested in dampier at a reduced price. i thought that nash was signed for too much. who have i overvalued?

Do y'all honestly think Curry is the type of player the Suns want? I think their experience with lazy/overweight/hard-to-motivate big men suggests they'll take less-talented/hard-working bigs before spending another dime on anyone like Curry. Talk about his upside all you want, but I think the Suns are through with those types of players -- good deal or not.

i don't disagree with you, i was only discussing the merits of the actual trade. player for players.

looking at all of the players that the suns have brought in the last couple years drafts and free agents signings, they all share something in common. they are all commented on for their hard work and effort. nash, barbs, q, amare, zarko etc. they may not be good defenders or great players but every last one of them is a hard worker.

just look at lampe, when was the last time you heard about a 19 player who came in and worked all summer?

I don't think either team would make that trade. I seriously don't believe Curry is the type of player the Phoenix Suns want to give away a lot to get. And I think the Chicago Bulls probably feel they can do better from a team like the Memphis grizzlies.

The problem with Curry is that he really doesn't provide any of the help the Phoenix Suns need. The Suns need a strong rebounder and shot blocker. Curry is neither of those. They would be much better with Chandler. Even though he hasn't been healthy over the last couple years I would be excited about getting him.

I agree that Curry is not what the Suns need. Chandler would be great, but at $4.8 million and the fact that he will be an RFA next year, I can't see a scenerio that works.
