Giants acquire 2B Gennett from Reds

The San Francisco Giants acquired former All-Star second baseman Scooter Gennett from the Cincinnati Reds at Wednesday's MLB trade deadline, according to multiple outlets. Varying reports had the Reds receiving either cash considerations or a player to be named later in return. Gennett, 29, missed the first half of the season due to a severe groin strain suffered in spring training.
