The New York Giants have made a move at the quarterback position. After reports surfaced regarding Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson being potential targets of the Giants and others, the team is reportedly agreeing to a two-year deal with Jameis Winston. Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports first reported the news and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network also confirmed the deal.

The deal is for two years and $8 million. Per Pelissero this deal won't preclude them from making additional quarterback moves in free agency or in the NFL draft. The team is consistently projected to select Shedeur Sanders from Colorado in weekly mock drafts.

Winston is set to join his fourth team since being selected No. 1 overall in the 2015 NFL draft. He also made stops with the New Orleans Saints and Cleveland Browns. The former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback could compete for the starting job with a rookie if they do select one or Tommy DeVito, who is the only other quarterback on the roster right now.

Winston signed with the Browns last offseason and served as the backup to Deshaun Watson. The former top pick of the Buccaneers would take over for Watson after he tore his Achilles against the Bengals in Week 7. Winston was inactive for the final three games of the year for the Browns.
