The Giants spent the big money fast as they attempt to remake their defense, but they still need more bodies. One of them could be on the way.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Cardinals free agent cornerback Jerraud Powers is visiting the Giants tomorrow, and could take more visits after that.

I'd like to keep him if the price tag isn't too steep. We could lose half our starting secondary.

Crazy they are letting him walk. We are thin at cb and not sure a drafted cb will help instantly.

I guess they know what they are doing
They have a plan, probably they were really concerned how the secondary allowed big plays.
Pass rush also was a liability but we cant forget how they made some mediocre qbs looks like an all pro.
I think the first 4 picks will be
CB/Safety
Qb
Cb/safety
Center

Been saying ARZ was going to need 2 CB's this offseason. Didn't get one in FA, so they will need to take 2 in the draft so they have enough depth at the position because an injury would be catastrophic.

Yep. Hopefully (if they draft CB's) will be ready to go if one PP or Bethel go down

Wonder what the deal is with Leon Hall? Still holding out for big bucks? He has had some visits but no takers so I suspect he is still feeling too proud.

This was a major issue for us down the stretch IMO. If we land even one good one that could shore up the other side. However, I think you are right.....if Peterson goes down we are so screwed. You would have to heavily depend on draft picks to keep you afloat.

I would like BASK to re-sign Powers because he is very good in the slot and a good leader. If the Giants over pay then that's cool too because it helps our comp pick status.

man, I'd really like to see us sign SOMEONE in the Powers/Leon Hall mode. Going into the season depending on Bethel and a rookie opposite PP doesn't give me a lot of confidence in that secondary.

This!

Say what you want but the Cards were better with him than without him. JMHO.

You have to figure they know what they are doing. BA brought him here from Indy and he is a BA guy so either he wants way too much or his skills have fallen off a cliff.

If Mathieu comes back for the start of the year, it'll staunch the bleeding some. He's a better slot corner.

Yes indeed! HB plays nickel CB better than just about anyone in the league. We need a tall, fast outside guy not named Bethel.

What concerns me at times about BA is that his loyalty (a strength a majority of the time) can be a weakness. Main example being Sowell, how he stayed on this team for three years had to be simply BA's loyalty.

If we let Powers walk then it tells me BA isn't loyal to a fault. Even if we re-sign Powers as long as the money makes sense I'd be okay.

Maybe sign Cromartie for a very reasonable price??
Need to clear cap space first which they don't seem to be in a hurry to do. I think they are waiting to see what they need after the draft. They just have to hope there are decent veterans available at that time to fill their remaining spots.
