It was obvious that the Padres didn't want Bochy anymore. The fact that they let him go to a division rival was a bit surprising but I think that hurts Bochy as much as the Padres because the players and front office of San Deigo is familiar with his style and what he likes to do and vice versa. It will be interesting to see if the Padres can land a bigger name to fill his spot with a lot of big names already signed. Maybe they will pick up an old Giant in Dusty Baker.

Never understood the infatuation with Bruce Bochy. If him and Kevin Towers weren't such close firends he would have been fired long ago. Sandy Alderson is at least making the effort to get the Friars out of the rut of mediocrity that Boche and KT put them in.
