As the 2025 NFL draft nears, it's becoming a trend that the New York Giants select Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 3 overall in most mocks.
NFL Media draft analyst Chad Reuter isn't going to be the one who changes that as he, too, has Sanders landing with the Giants in his latest mock.
That is not exactly a glowing assessment of Sanders from an athletic standpoint but it's also not an uncommon one.
Evaluating the potential selection of Sanders has become redundant. The Giants have seemingly painted themselves into a corner and will overdraft the Colorado product out of necessity and hope for the best.
What Reuter projects over the next several rounds is far more interesting.
Harmon would be the sort of block-eating, run-stuffing defensive tackle the Giants desperately need alongside Dexter Lawrence, while Mbow projects as a plus-starter after a little development.
Kennard is more of a project but would add a fresh body to the rotation. He may struggle against quality NFL tackles early in his career, so his initial impact may be limited.
Ayomanor has good size but is still early in his development. He has a lot to learn and would likely take the spot of a productive veteran if selected in the fourth round. If the Giants could land him later in the draft and stash him on the practice squad, that would be ideal.

Sanders might not be the biggest, strongest or fastest passer, but he throws with anticipation from the pocket and can test defenses with his feet when facing man coverage. The Giants have lacked a true leader at the quarterback position for years; Sanders works to make his teammates better and knows what it means to play under the spotlight.
