DENVER–As the Giants prepare for their final day of a miserable eight-game road trip, their roster figures to undergo a substantial makeover on Friday. Manager Bruce Bochy indicated the team plans to activate second baseman Joe Panik, outfielder Hunter Pence and closer Mark Melancon on Friday when the club begins a six-game homestand. “We’re going to have some action going on this weekend with the roster,” Bochy said. The franchise could have two infielders returning to the 25-man roster over the weekend as Panik and Alen Hanson will continue their rehab assignments with Single-A San Jose on Wednesday. Hanson is starting at shortstop for San Jose, a sign the Giants will consider optioning Kelby
