I was thinking it would be cool to have a chat, but I'm guessing not many people will be able to watch it live. Even if you can't, you could stick around in the chat for live updates. I'll be in the chat and see if anybody follows.

Normally I hate having Monday/Tuesday as my weekend, but today I love it.

Amare had a lame first half. Looked out of sorts. Turned the ball over a couple times. But the Suns look great. He appears to be moving/running well at least,

He's definitely rusty. Had a few turnovers early, but was pretty active. He was running really well. He was also strong to the hole, but got stripped once and blocked once. The offense has had trouble adding him in though, until the very end of the first half.

Did you see his offensive rebound and dunk? That was old Amare! w00t!

Little disappointed we didn't see Jumaine Jones in the first half. Amare looked lost other than the 1 strong rebound that he then jammed in. Marion looks like a machine. It seemed weird to me that D'Antoni had Nash on AI, seems like that wouldve been Raja's assignment, but ah well.

Yeah that was a great rebound and dunk. He's just getting used to playing again. I think he should be ready by the end of the season. The whole team played very sloppy but still ended the half with 62 points. :)

I really wouldn't see he looked lost, but rather, the team wasn't sure what to do with him at first. YOu have to remember, two years ago we pretty much ran one play with Amare in, the pink n roll with Nash. Now with Diaw setting picks, it looked like they were having trouble figuring out what to do. At the end of the first half, Nash and Amare looked good together.

That was great, good to see. Right now I'm not concerned with his point production but more about how he's moving, running, etc. This is the time he'll get the feel of it all again and learn to trust the knees so he's not holding back. When he regains that confidence he'll be able to gear it up. Barbosa looks ready. Shawn looks more than ready.

Marion, Nash and Diaw look great, although Diaw will benefit as he gets back into game shape. Barbosa looked pretty good too, but I'd like for him to keep his head up while dribbling just once!

Amare's had a similar second half. Some nice dunks, and some glimpses of old Amare, bookended by offensive fouls, turnovers, etc.

I'm most happy to see that he appears to have a bounce in his step for the first time. He's not playing so heart-wrenchingly flat-footed.

I'm concerned that he doesn't seem as cat-quick as he used to. Time will tell...

I'm most concerned that the pain keeps re-emerging,

Also, I think KT has looked a bit slow and off tonight. He is probably just working himself back into shape. I really want to see Jumaine Jones though, it worries me that D'Anotni is still keeping the bench so short even in preseason.

EDIT: Ah, thanks guys, I wasnt aware. Bummer that the Suns are going to lose this game it looks like, I wanted to see how they would do against that Russian team Walton keeps raving about.

I thought Jumaine Jones had some sort of minor injury.

Oh carp. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Can we possibly infuse some killer instinct?

Recap: The Suns blew a 22 point 3rd quarter lead and lost the game. In the span where we lost the lead we missed 5 layups and about 5 open threes. We were clearly trying to get Amare involved in the offense as well. Anyways, preseason so who cares.

Nash - he looked amazing, some brilliant passes tonight, midseason form for him
Marion - amazing first half, 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals. couldn't hit a shot in the second half
Barbosa- similar to marion, was much better in the first half than the second
Diaw - all around decent game, some great passes, did a little bit of everything
Banks - was pretty aggressive on offense, had one really nice move but missed the layup. nothing more really noticeable.
JamesJones - hit his first shot, but didn't make anymore I think. He got some nice rebounds and had some good hustle plays though.
Bell - really didn't stand out at all. I actually forgot we had him.
KT - had a few flat-footed rebounds as usual, and a shot or two. Didn't stand out all that much but didn't play much either.

Amare - very rusty, fumbled the ball a few times, got stripped and blocked once. He had 6 points, all on dunks, two of which were very nice dunks (one being that impressive offensive rebound and slam). He also had another nice looking dunk that got canceled because of an offensive foul. From 3:00 left in the first half and through the second half, he was very active. He was all over the place looking to get the ball. He even had a few nice hard fouls. He was very rusty once he had the ball, but his activity level was very high. You kinda got the feeling he was getting excited about it too. Good to see. Overall, at the very least I think he had 6 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 turnovers in about 15 minutes or so.

Anyone still question that Barbosa misses some easy layups? It was pretty obvious today. He needs to concentrate on finishing.

Well, crap, we lost the stinking game. I was sure hoping we'd win because then the next game would be on ESPN... as it is its on NBATV, which I don't get. I was also wanting to see the CSKA Moscow team, who, I assume, won their game.

Come on, it's the first game that Amare had a significant role in! From all reports, we're still much further ahead than everyone thought we would be at this time. There's no need to start reserving places on a high bridge to jump off of.

yeah CSKA won and I was looking forward to see Papaloukas and Nash on opposite sides -- would've been awesome to watch 2 top notch PGs go at it.

Maybe its good we lost, atleast we don't have to play CSKA. We probably aren't ready and don't have to lose to a euro team now.

I thought Amare looked pretty good today athletically which is about all you can ask after virtually being out of the game for a year. I do not worry about Amare being rusty. So actually I liked what I saw out of Amare today. The rest of his game will return if he stays healthy.
