Going to Cards game - anyone have to eat gluten free?

OK, I know beer and football. For those of us who really are allergic to that stuff, is there anyone who goes to games here that has to eat gluten free that has scouted this out. University of Phoenix and the Cardinals website are absolutely zero information. The Dbacks and Suns generally do a pretty good job of getting you info. I have gone to quite a few Chargers games in SD and they did a good job, too. I am finding zero on the web for any info. Anyone here that can help I would appreciate it. I am kinda expecting zero replies.

I have Celiac disease myself - been eating GF for about 6 years now. Calling it an "allergy" isn't even accurate...it's an auto-immune disease. It also makes you more susceptible to other auto-immune diseases as well...I have also contracted psoriasis...probably more to come as I get older.

My THEORY (can't really back this up with too many facts yet) is that all of the processed foods and genetically modified foods we've been eating for the past 50 years or so could be the cause of the uptick in these kinds of issues. Apparently the wheat people were eating 50 years ago isn't the same as the stuff we're eating now.

Oh and next time you make fun of people with Celiac disease, think about you would feel if the slightest cross-contamination (such as french fries being cooked in the same fryer as onion rings) put you in the fetal position on the floor of your bathroom for the next 24 hours. For some people, it's that bad - or sometimes worse. Me - I got off lucky...my symptoms are different - I am what they call DH Celiac...the same intestinal damage happens to me if I eat anything with even the slightest bit of gluten in it, but instead of stomach pain, I get painful itchy puss-filled blisters all over my body.

Yep - it's a laugh riot.

Celiacs is very real and eating out is difficult. My wife and son both have it. If they eat anything within the no no family it’s not a good scene.

Sorry OP - have no info for you regarding the stadium’s food. As someone else suggested tailgate outside first for likely better, and certainly healthier options.

I want to say there are GF options, but I don't recall any specific vendors being solely GF. Those options might be fairly limited on the main concourses. You might have better luck in the Club level since there are more and better food options there - if you have a ticket for it.

BRR's advice might be right or even eating at west gate prior to the game since the prices are ridiculous.

I really don't think Celiac's Disease is as prevalent as this thread makes it out to be, and some people have a tendency to overblow their issues when it comes to gluten, but whether it's a disease or someone is just on a diet, why are we giving them a hard time? They're a fan looking for information.

Anyways OP, I don't think there's a lot of info on this one. I'm coming down into the main bowl from the club section, but I know there were a pretty good amount of gluten free options (or at least food you can make gluten free yourself, like the buffet) up there.

I have a Crohn's/Colitis variant so I rarely eat before or during the games. Nothing like having a really bad episode and needing to use a toilet someone has intentionally peed all over.

We're frugal so we eat before we go to the game and then again after the game (Whataburger is our traditional post game meal).

I've been asking the team to have a non-soda option as a fountain drink for many years. Plenty of fans do not drink soda, but unless you drink soda or tea there are no options for a fountain drink to get a souvenir cup. Hard to believe they couldn't have a Coke or Gatorade non-soda option at the concessions. We always bring our one allowed bottle of water each into the games and occasionally there will be a cup I want bad enough to spend $7 on a cup of ice (ugh). The Mrs. will usually buy one cup (she drinks limited soda and loves tea). The $1 refills are a great deal on drinks and the large popcorn.

It’s the OPs notion that the Cards or any business should have it on their website. Why is it any businesses mandate to list every food item for everyone with a DIEASE or allergy.
Why not go down there and look around like everyone else does...or tailgate and eat before?
Better yet take your dog with you to the game due to your mental issue...as people now do on planes, restaurants, shopping and grocery stores.

Maybe he could order a burger without a bun like 100% of people with the same disease....or try to find a salad. It’s a football stadium.

Just some perspective, my wife was a size 0 up until she was in her mid 20s, and as a kid she was nearly "failure to thrive." Once they realized she had celiac, she's been able to eat healthy and normally and has had a much better life. She even gets gluten crumbs on her plate, and she can get really really sick, and she's a tough chick. not even close to a hypochondriac at all.

So having gluten free options for some people is the difference in going somewhere or not. If you're a smart business owner, you adapt to your customers, not the other way around.
