Tucson starts a 4 game series against Memphis on Tuesday and I will be going to the Friday game. I wonder if I'll be the only DBack fan there? The ballpark here is really nice, one of the best minor league parks I've ever seen and its in a great location.

So from those in the know, who should I be keeping an eye on thats on the AAA roster? Anyone thats projected to be a mid-season call up?

I'm really looking forward to this, its about as close as I can get to cheering for my home team in person. I had no idea how much I'd miss spring training in Tucson or the 3 + hour drive to Phoenix until I moved here.

I was seriously considering road tripping to Mobile, I've been told its about a 6 hour drive. Still might do it too, just have to check the schedule.

Jamie D'Antona and Chris Carter are two decent prospects, but I wouldn't peg either to get more than a cup of coffee at the big league level this season. Enrique Gonzalez, Dana Eveland, or Yusmerio Petit are three starting pitchers that could see a little bit of action with the Dbacks should injury occur or when the roster expands in September. Tucson also has a really good bullpen this year, but I don't know if any of them are much to get excited about in terms of major league potential.

Have fun!

Is Memphis the AAA team w/ the really religious owners who do all sorts of religious promotion at the stadium?

They haven't done that when I was there so I really don't know.

The Sidewinders looked OK last night, won 7 - 1 and scored 6 in the 9th. Adam Bass was the starter, he looked OK but he "only" topped out at 90 on the radar gun and seemed to me to throw a lot of pitches in the 4 innings he was in (not sure of the count). Dave Krynzel and Mark Johnson hit HRs but nobody really stood out and made me say "wow".

They took 3 out of 4 from Memphis. My wife and I were absolutely the only 2 cheering for Tucson. Great ballpark, hands down the best non-major league stadium I've been to, of course I only have all the AZ spring training parks to compare it to.
