Please help me find a good and free ftp client. Let's face it, the one built into Windows XP is a joke. I used to use WS_FTP, but dont have a valid copy and dont want to spend $60 on freaking ftp software.

Suggestions?

smart FTP is pretty good.

flash FXP is pretty good if you want to FTP to FTP as well. (as in connect to 2 different ftp's and transfer the information from one to another) Last time I checked it was freeware.

Yeah I have used all of those mentioned... One that I liked a lot was CuteFTP but it came with bundled spyware trojan crap that took me forever to remove, which is a shame because it was a really nice little program... I like smart and coffcup but lately I have been just logging on through the MSIE browser.

I loved CuteFTP, but moved on to coffeecup, due to the stuff you mentioned. Didn't they also start charging for it?

I work with the internet daily at my job, and IMO the two best are Cyberduck for the Mac and Filezilla for the PC.
