All in all, I had flashbacks to the Seattle Divisional Game with how we nearly gave up the lead in such a crucial game. Panthers have exceeded my expectations this week by far, insane how much our DLine stepped up. I noticed a crucial mistake early on with how our DEs were doubled, leaving our DTs to feast on 1v1s, but not really sure how long it continued.
Now, the refs. Honestly plenty of bad calls, unlucky for you guys as well. TD should never have had that fumble recovery TD, it was a forward pass. Many other calls screwed you over, evident by 3 and 44. I was pretty ticked the refs gave no attention to Cam on a couple of questionable hits, but it is what it is. I really don't know how much it would've affected the game, but knowing from the Panthers experience with calls against them, it usually leads to loss of momentum and hope. Honestly, the refs really screwed you guys over, and I hate seeing that.
What I can evaluate is the Panthers look like last year. Defensively, Worley did great, besides our typical last quarter meltdown. Our safeties and communication need work, but I think we'll get somewhere, especially when Bradberry gets back. Our DLine, wow. I didn't recognize them at all. I got so excited seeing our CB blitz, haven't seen those in ages. Star was a beast, looks like KK from last year. CJ did work, and Ealy showed up where it counted. Honestly all I'm worried about is whether Shaq Thompson is doing alright. I think our defense can become solid if our secondary starts forming, and our front keeps showing this nastiness.
Offensively, the Panthers are set. We really need a sure handed WR however, but other than that quite happy with the way things are. Our RT in Daryl Williams has really shown up, light-years ahead of Remmers play, and I hope it stays that way. LT could use an upgrade over Oher, but its tolerable for now. Our run game is good, tolbert is just really a dud though. Olsen's a beast. Not really complaining.
On the Cardinals side, the fact that Chandler Jones hasn't taken advantage of Remmers at LT much is surprising. I expected the Cardinals to feast but was pleasantly surprised that didn't happen. Your defense did pretty decent for the most part, but the pressure wasn't there. Surprised how much your pass rush was a non factor this game.
Cardinals offensively, I just don't believe Palmer can lead them in big time type of games. Your Oline got wrecked completely by our front, which I never expected. David Johnson is a beast, but he really didn't flash too much besides some amazing plays here and there. WRs are good, but our pressure really got there before much could be done.
Was a good game. Probably brought you all PTSD of the NFC Championship for you guys, but was refreshing to see my team shine some hope. You guys are honestly good, don't count yourselves out yet. You got talent everywhere, don't be surprised to see a resurgence soon. You nearly had it too, coaching changes for you guys (our coaches need to learn how to do stuff like that) is all the quick passes and slants/screens you guys employed to get the ball out faster for Palmer.
I have one main question though: What do you guys consider your OLine, like before this game. Have they been real solid, mediocre, and whatnot. I just want to evaluate whether our DLine performance was a fluke, or if we may be the real deal.
