staying at the Raddison Woodlands, and they now have Select Comfort Mattresses. Several choices of food and room service, pool and work out room. Very comfortable.
Decent sushi bar too but I'll never go back.
In 2003, they refused to honor my reservation for their only handicap room with a roll-in shower. I had made the reservation in April, if I recall, as soon as the Cards announced their tentative dates for camp. A week before camp, I called and reconfirmed the reservation. (I had stayed there for camp 2002 in that same room and liked it)
Incidentally, that's where many of the Cards brass and valley media people stay too.
Anyway, I got to the desk and they told me my room had been given to someone else and I had to find another place if I wanted a roll-in shower. Hey, I'll rough it but 10 days with no shower ain't fun anymore.
The girl was very kind and told me Bill Bidwill showed up and wanted the room because he liked the bed and mattress. Apparently, when in Flagstaff, he often uses that room. That year, he just hadn't notified them he was coming.
No problem. The Cards are a huge client for them. If I was their hotel manager, I'd have made the same choice. Luckily, I found La Quinta had a late cancellation of a handicap room with roll-in shower and I grabbed it.
As a matter of principle, Radissons are off my list of lodging options.
