Good story about the impact of one shot on a college basketball program

Esssentially the one shot allowed Northern Iowa to raise about 2 million bucks from donors so they could retain their coach and it completely turned around the financial situation at UNI's athletic department.

That's an awesome story. Good for them, hope their program excels even more.

Although I do wonder how much of those increased sales were from Mizzou fans and alums. They probably have to replace their worn out Bucknell shirts

A friend pointed out the other side of the coin of course, the effects of that shot are short lived, UNI still has to realize going forward that they need to figure out how to run their athletic department at break even or better, because eventually the momentum from that shot will go away.

But it's a great story nonetheless and who knows maybe the excitement of that shot will keep their boosters donating for 3-4 years giving them enough time to actually build their athletic programs so they CAN maintain the momentum.
