The home of the Suns is getting a new name in the fall. Wonder who will step up.

The home of the Suns is getting a new name in the fall. Wonder who will step up.
US Airways' 10-year contract, which began in 2005 after the merger of America West Airlines and US Airways, runs through Oct. 2015 but the airlines say the Phoenix Suns, who manage the arena, have the option to seek a new sponsor before then.
American, which merged with Tempe-based US Airways in December, said it is relinquishing its renewal rights because the US Airways name will be phased out as soon as the airlines fully combine their operations, and American already has its name on two NBA arenas. There's the American Airlines Center in Dallas, home to the Dallas Mavericks, and American Airlines Arena in Miami, where the Miami Heat play.
"Three branded arenas in one major sports league is not the best use of our marketing resources,'' company officials said in an employee newsletter due out today.
I wondered when this was going to happen.
