Mar. 21—ST. PAUL — Goodhue saw its season end in overtime on Friday afternoon, falling 84-82 to No. 7 seed Heritage Christian Academy in the Class 1A boys basketball consolation semifinals at Concordia University St. Paul's Gangelhoff Center.
Goodhue's season finished at 22-10. Heritage Christian moved to 25-6.
The No. 6-seeded Wildcats got big games from freshman Alex Loos (24 points), Michael Roschen (20) and Owen Roschen (15). Standout guard Luke Roschen was held two two points as he struggled with his shot.
The teams went into overtime tied at 77.
The Wildcats shot well overall, hitting at 48%. Michael Roschen was 8-for-10 from the field and Loos was 8-for-19.
Heritage Christian got 27 points from Abu Tarawallie and 24 from Josh Sokeye. It ended the game shooting a lofty 51% as a team. Tarawallie was 11-for-17 and also grabbed 13 rebounds.
It was Goodhue's second straight season of reaching the state tournament. Big things are expected again next year for Goodhue which had just two seniors on its roster.
