I've said all along that the Niners aren't as bad as their record. They have a solid defense and got rid of the turnover machine QB (O'Sullivan). They are ALOT better than most people on this board realize!!!

The 49ers are 4th worst in points scored against them per game. I wouldn't exactly call that solid defense.

Bills are going to get one more chance to drive on the Niners side of the field. Ball at the Niners 25 or so, based on a good run back and a Niners personal foul. If the Bills can't get into the endzone on this then they are losing this game. Even if they do get in they'll still likely let SF get into field goal range and lose it that way.

Might be just what this team needs right now. A week of practice with nothing in the bag yet , playing at home with a chance to clinch in front of the home crowd.
I still would have been as happy to see the 49ers lose today and start the celebration.

Fans tore down the goal posts after clinching a Wild Card berth in '98 and also after winning the second game of the season over Dallas in 1997.

I also remember a couple of MLB teams playing with the Sparkling Wine after winning a division title just last fall.

What an amazing weekend that will be. Car*s playoff and UT in the Fiesta.

Hey CBus if UT plays Ohio State you can buy my other Car*inal playoff ticket and then we can go to the Fiesta on Monday and harass each other for 4 hours.

Am I missing something, Duckjake? Your Longhorns were #2 last week and in line to play in the BCS Championship Game, and now the BSC has vaulted Oklahoma to the #2 spot. If they beat Missouri, they will play the winner of Alabama/Florida in the title game. Texas got dissed, man.

Yeah, but college football is a joke. Flag football in pads. Big matchups like Texas v Rice or Ohio State v Akron. Half of the teams or more have no chance at winning their conference.

The "National" Championship is played a month or more after the season with participants selected by computers. Its disgusting to watch the Horns clobber the Aggies and instead of enjoying a victory over an arch-rival the fans are talking about "style points". Gice me an NFL game any day.

It sucks but the Fiesta is a great consolation prize especially since I'm going to be in Phoenix that week anyway.
