Wonder if this will change the frequency that they discus "adult beverages" during broadcasts?

Maybe the racing Grace can run while handcuffed next time.

Some children never grow up!

I can imagine the exchange.

"Good move, Mark Grace."

"Thank you for that fine observation, Daron Sutton."

"You're welcome, Mark Grace. Oh by the way, the Diamondbacks just put a runner on first, he stole second, was bunted to third and scored on a sacrifice fly while you and I were talking."

I dont dislike Grace but what a *******.

I know everyone makes mistakes but there's just no excuse for driving drunk. It's all fun and games until you wreck and hurt someone or yourself or on the other hand until you get arrested and jeopardize your job, embarrass your kids, etc.. Just call a cab Mark, jeez.

It amazes me how many people defended his actions on azcentral. One person even blamed it on abuse of police power. With that being said, I am surprised this did not happen sooner. Hopefully it is the last time it does since next time he may not be so lucky that he did not kill someone. Also surprised he was not suspended, of course, they may be waiting for the test results.

Has Grace even made an apology?

I know this may be nit-picking, but he hasn't been convicted yet. What if his blood comes back and it shows he is innocent?

Also, an apology is an admission of guilt to some extent. He hasn't had a trial yet.

Knowing Gracie's lifestyle (he does love him some adult beverages) I expect him to be guilty, but at this point I wouldn't offer up an apology either.

All good points. Wonder what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty. Although I would put money on him being guilty...

Disagree. Grace was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The officer did not pull him over for nothing. He was booked and his mugshot was taken. Grace works for the Diamondbacks and represents them on and off camera. He needs to apologize and say he is sorry for even putting himself in that situation.

What pisses me off is he could of easily called a cab. It's not like he couldn't afford it. That mugshot of him just about to smile is disgusting. He is damn lucky he did not kill an innocent person. And yes I believe he was drunk. Being pulled over at 1:00AM is never good and just looking at his mugshot, you can tell he was not sober.

Good thing you aren't involved in law.

Look, when all is said and done do I believe he was drunk? Yep.

The rest of your post is utter nonsense.

The only nonsense here is a 46 year old admittedly "having a few drinks" and then driving. Grace is a freaking idiot. Lucky he didn't kill himself or someone else.

I lost someone very close when I was 18 due to a drunk driver so I know how it feels to lose someone. I guess in your book it's okay for people to drive drunk but I hope you never have to experience what I did. Grace owes the Diamondbacks, his family and the fans an apology for being a complete moron. All he had to do was call a cab.

Look, I'm WITH you guys on this. I am sorry for your loss...truly. That said, Gracie DID NOT drive drunk. It hasn't been proven yet. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Everything about Grace and the circumstances point to DUI. I get it. He still has his right to due process. Once that completes it's course I will be his harshest critic. There is no excuse for a millionaire to not have the ability to arrange for a ride.

You are just condemning a man for something that he is only suspected of having done. The rest is a non-issue. Again, (for the third time...do I think he did it? Absolutely). Has he been convicted? No.

He admitted to "having a few drinks" and then driving. That's enough for me. No excuse for that.

Did you hear how subdued Grace and Sutton were tonight announcing the Kansas City game?

Grace read some sponsors' promos in an almost-normal voice instead of raising it an octave and shouting. And Sutton stopped saying, "Good read, Gracie" (as if promos were about the announcers rather than the companies paying the bills).

I don't remember if I posted this thought last week, when Greg Schulte did the TV play-by-play with Grace. Gracie constantly interrupted The Guv'nor, who just stopped, let Grace ramble, then picked up where he left off.

Hearing Schulte announce various sports in the Valley for decades, I could feel what he was thinking. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to management and said, "Someone needs to talk to this guy about being under control."

Couple that with the irresponsible DUI, and Grace's controlled behavior in the booth tonight, I have no doubt he was called on the carpet. Let's see how long that will last.

I think Gracie just had one too many tonight and had trouble putting his thoughts in order.

Which means more DUI's on the road and lack of coherence in the booth?

Today and tomorrow, with Gracie doing Fox, Sutton mentioned that the usual occasional subs Gonzo and Garagiola won't be in the TV booth. They're bringing over the radio color commentator, Tom Candiotti.

Sign of things to come, while Gracie disappears to dry up?

Probably, with Jeff Munn doing 1/3 of the play-by-play on radio (while the Guv'nor switches to color), then color while The Guv'nor does play-by-play for the 1st & 3rd segments.

If that happens, I wonder if they will actually mention the reason on TV, radio, the internet or in the paper.

Which means more DUI's behind the wheel and lack of coherence in the booth?

Sutton mentioned that they're bringing over the radio color commentator, Tom Candiott to do color for a few days instead of the usual Fri-Sat subs Gonzo and Garagiola while Grace does a network game for Fox.

Is it a sign of things to come, while Gracie disappears to dry up? Perhaps as you mentioned, the D'backs (and Fox?) also noticed that Gracie just had one too many.

I screwed up, didn't I?

After having downsized from a house when I was divorced two years ago to a 900 sq. ft. apartment, I am now downsizing further to a 600 sq. ft. apartment, to bring my expenses closer to my Social Security checks and part-time job.

Too many trips up and down the stairs in 110 degrees getting rid of things that won't fit (as well as on CraigsList), then trying to "relax" with ASFN for a few minutes.

So, hey, what's Grace's excuse? He'll be turning just 47 in three days . . . if he doesn't kill himself behind the wheel. Or someone else.

I'll take a brain fart double-post anytime.

And I'll try to post this one only once. :)
