Apr. 8—GRAND FORKS — The Grand Forks Central volleyball program will have a new head coach in the fall.

Central announced Tuesday that Darwin Kasprowicz has accepted the head volleyball coach position for the Knights.

Kasprowicz has been an assistant volleyball coach for the varsity and served as the head junior varsity coach the past three seasons. He has also been involved in youth levels, coaching the NorthSide Knights club teams.

Before that, Kasprowicz was an assistant coach for the UND club volleyball team for three seasons after he finished playing club volleyball for UND.

"Darwin has knowledge of the program serving as an assistant the past three years and is excited about the direction he wants to take the program." Central athletic director Tony Bina said. "Darwin already knows the athletes in the program and they understand his coaching philosophy which will make the transition smooth. He definitely understands the game of volleyball and continues to be a student of the game to further develop his knowledge of volleyball. I am excited for Darwin and this opportunity to be our new head coach."

Kasprowicz is coming up on his 10th year working at Aatrix software in Grand Forks. Kasprowicz will be taking over for Brandon Walters, who served as the head coach of the Knights the past three seasons.

"I am excited for the new challenge as the head coach at Grand Forks Central," Kasprowicz said. "Looking forward to seeing the athletes continue to grow and develop their skill sets for Central volleyball. It's an honor to be a part of this program moving forward."

Central finished 8-25 during the 2024 season.
