Grand Forks Fast Break Club announces 2025 all-city basketball teams

Mar. 21—GRAND FORKS — Eight boys and eight girls have been selected by the Grand Forks Fast Break Club as the 2025 all-city basketball teams.

Of the 16 selections, seven were repeat choices from the 2024 teams.

A trio of 1,000-point scorers from East Grand Forks Senior High highlight the boys team in Austin Rusling, Carson McDonald and Chase Lindgren.

The Green Wave earned the No. 1 seed in the Minnesota Section 8AA tournament. However,

a knee injury to Rusling

midway through the season hurt East Grand Forks' hopes at a section tournament crown.

The Wave lost in the section semifinals to eventual champion Pelican Rapids

.

Grand Forks Central also landed three players on the team: Cole Wilber, Brooklan Bruce and Brayden Delorme.

Wilber is a two-time all-EDC selection and four-year starter. He averaged 13 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds this year.

Bruce was a unanimous all-EDC pick this past season while averaging 18.5 points and 2.4 assists per game.

Delorme was also an all-EDC choice, racking up 17.4 points per game. He shot 94 percent from the free-throw line and connected on more than 80 3-pointers.

Grand Forks Red River, which finished runner-up at the East Region tournament before falling to Mandan in the state quarterfinals, rounded out the all-city team with two selections, Pearce Parks and Cameron Klefstad.

Parks is a two-time all-EDC choice who averaged more than 22 points per game.

The senior guard became the program's all-time scoring leader late in the season.

Klefstad was an all-EDC pick, averaging more than 20 points per game to go along with 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists.

The girls' selections featured two players from all four Greater Grand Forks teams.

East Grand Forks Sacred Heart's selections are Lexi Lawrence and Finley Horken. Both sophomores,

Lawrence and Horken led Sacred Heart to a Minnesota Section 8A championship

The Eagles, starting four sophomores and a junior,

lost in overtime to Sleepy Eye St. Mary's in the state quarterfinals

.

Lawrence, who passed 1,000 career points in early February, averaged more than 16.0 points per game while shooting better than 49 percent from the field. She also averaged 8.4 rebounds per game.

Horken was Sacred Heart's top defender and averaged 11.2 points, 3.3 assists and 2.5 steals per game while playing 31 minutes per game.

East Grand Forks Senior High's selections were Tatem Votava and Taylor Bergh.

Votava, a junior captain, averaged 23.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.7 teals per game. A conference MVP, Votava shot better than 50 percent from inside the arc and 36.7 from 3-point range.

She also passed 1,000 points this season

Bergh was an all-conference choice. She scored 7.1 points per game and added 4.1 rebound, 2.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game.

Grand Forks Central was represented by sisters Lauren and Jacie Reardon.

Lauren, who's committed to UND

, averaged 19.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

Jacie averaged 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

Grand Forks Red River's Reese Remz and Ella Speidel — both all-EDC picks — round out the girls' team.

Remz averaged 10.0 points, 5.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game. Speidel averaged 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

After graduating heavily from a season ago, the Red River girls qualified for the state tournament.
