"Well, we won't be able to send him to talk to the Boys Club."

Maybe it's just me because we have always been the underdog but I don't like having all this attention/publicity. I like being under the radar.

I found this part interesting:

Reluctant to talk to the Cardinals because of his friendship with recently fired coach Ken Whisenhunt and other assistants with whom he had worked in Pittsburgh (Ray Horton, Russ Grimm), Arians changed his mind after a phone conversation with Whisenhunt, who encouraged him to pursue the job and said positive things about team president Michael Bidwill. So Arians showed up in Phoenix and nailed the interview before it formally began, all by being his unfiltered and fearless self.

Guess we owe Whiz another thank you.

That's just battered Cardinal syndrome. And a lot of fans have it. But not me. I love the attention. Enjoy it while it lasts man. Why be all shy and ignore it. It's a rare season. Enjoy it. Seriously, for all fans, enjoy the hell out of it because it's rare. So rare.

I thought about that. There's a benefit to a lot of attention now. If we're playing in February .... the team won't be distracted by being the sudden focus of the media. They'll be used to it.

Great article, a friend of mine just emailed it to me and after reading it rushed here to post it. Well what is typically the case I'm late to the party. The fact that Whiz told BA to interview for the job speaks to his class and how great Michael Bidwill is as an owner, (AWESOME).

Silvers article on Arians is excellent. If one has been following along since Arian's arrived here in the desert, then most of the tales have already been heard/read. But still, the article paints a great picture by tying them all together.

From Chicity Sports:
Bruce Arians as NFL HC is 27-10.

Just let that sink in.

I was in ***** last night in the golf area and the salesperson noticed my Cardinal jacket and asked if I was a Cardinal fan, Duh! I said a long time Cardinal fan. She said they are one bad ass team. They are really good. I said yes we're having one hell of a year as I puffed out my chest. It was cool being in Eagle/Steeler country and getting positive comments about the team.

Well said that man!

What a great article too by the way, read it last night and has had me in a chirpy mood all day today. Like you say, we need to make the most of times like these, football gods can take it away in a flash so i'm enjoying it...even if it feels really really odd

I enjoyed this. Really happy for Arians (and for us).

One thing I keep thinking is how if the Cards make a deep playoff run this year with all these absences, there are going to be a lot of players returning to active duty next year who will really want a piece of it.

thanks Darkside --- I now have a name for it: BCFS

Battered Cardinal Fan Syndrome

symptoms:

an impending sense of doom
fear of collapse, no matter how implausible or unlikely
immediate looking for penalty flags after positive plays

I dont think it will ever go away either.

Even if we took a 30 pt lead I would likely still be scared.

I'm pretty sure I will display symptoms until the Cardinals win the SB.

Just can't give Mike Bidwill and Keim enough credit for taking a chance on a guy that had been habitually passed over... Tremendous insight and frankly, big balls for making the move on BA. And I couldn't be any happier!!! ;)

Amazing read. One of best I have seen on Arians and by Silver.

Has Gee jumped on the bandwagon yet?
