I like it because it puts the Suns back in the lottery (see the bracket) atlanta doesnt make the playoffs.

This is like us leading the charge to get the bench rule changed. Golden state advocates cant make a case for a playoff bracket change because they would be the most obvious benefactors of the change.

In a van...down by the river.
From the article:
I would also suggest the 2-3-2 format currently used for the Finals to be in place for all series. This minimizes travel.
The 2-3-2 format should be eliminated alltogether. Think about it.....in a 2-2-1-1-1 format the team w/homecourt gets to play 3 of the first 5 games at home(hence the advantage)
In a 2-3-2 format the team w/homecourt has to play 3 of the first 5 on the road(that is not an advantage)
The objective and mindset of playoff coaches and teams isn't to stretch a series to 6 or 7 games , so arguing that it's an advantage that you get to play games 6 & 7 at home is nonsense.
For travel purposes obviously the Finals format of 2-3-2 works better, but i really hope that the NBA doesn't convert ALL rounds to this format.....and the Finals format needs to be changed to 2-2-1-1-1.

I agree, I love the 2-2-1-1-1 format, it definitely gives the higher seed that advantage which they deserve. Imagine if Atlanta had 3 straight home games, they would've been up 3-2 going back to Boston, imagine if they would've had 2 chances to close the series out. It would've been exciting but not fair really

Exactly. What top seeded team decides that having their series go 6 or 7 games just so you can play them at home is a good thing?:doi:

IMO, the perfect home court advantage would be playing games 1-2 on the road, 3-4-5 at home, 6 on the road, and 7 at home.
