I know I was one of the ones saying the season was over a few days ago, but that was just frustration, pure and simple. I still think we really need to turn a corner if we want to make the playoffs, but maybe it's possible.

And last night's game got me pumped again. Gonzo catching that deep ball over the outfield wall started it...maybe that will be the play that turns this season around.

Which was followed up by the 9th inning rally, which had me yelling and clapping in my living room like they had just won the World Series or something.

More of this would be nice, let's get the Rockies today!

We finally had something to celebrate and be happy about last night at the BOB--definitely a great feeling after that awesome 9th inning rally....

but even before, it was gratifying to see the D'backs put together the "little" things that win ball games. The defense sparkled throughout--highlighted by Gonzo's home run stealing grab, but remember he and Craig also teamed up for a nice play at the plate..... Danny made a great catch, midfielders turned three excellent double plays, and Tony made a nice "do or die" play to get the runner at first.

Real baseball has begun!

You are correct John.. that was a preformance that we as DBax fans can relate too... unlike the latest losing streaks.... Nice to see they came prepared to play.. I hope they put up a solid game today and get on a roll!

As much as those come from behind wins are exciting be it bottom of the 9th or extra innings. I really want one of those wins where the game is pretty much in hand early.

So how about today we get ourselve a 3 run lead by the 5-6 and get one of those ole boring wins under our belt. I know that would me me feel a lot better.

I hear you on that one, DWKB. I want to see Schilling with a 3-5 run lead by the third inning, and a total shutdown of Colorado.
Maybe a beaning of Walker for good measure.

I agree. It was a big win last night, but I think if I've taken anything out of this young season thus far, it is that the D-Backs are not the contender they have been in the past. You can this pessimistic or jumping to conclusions or whatever else you want, but I just don't see it. That's not to say the D-Backs aren't better than their current record, because I think that they are. I just don't think it's a championship caliber club anymore.

And, for the record, I did pick them to win the NL West.

The thought of having to see Larry Walker and Todd Helton for 12 more games this year is just nauseating. D-Backs could definitely have used a left handed starter in this series or somebody lefty out of the bullpen. Those two seemed to be the major damage doers (though I haven't looked at the numbers).

come on, dude, one step at a time...but speaking long term, we need at least one more really good hitter to protect gonzo. matty can't hack it. overbay would do, but like i said we can't pressure him. other than that, im confident the pitching will come around (maybe it already has). did anyone notice how dominating mantei was? koplove was mighty fine, too. im sure myers will find his groove. and batista pulled another "gandalf" move-showing up when needed most and least expected.
