The game will be televised on FSAZ with a 7 p.m. Arizona start time.

On Wednesday the Grizzlies (30-45) lost at home to the Warriors 118-103 while the Suns (17-59) lost to the Wizards 124-121.

Only six remaining games for the Suns this season.

Here is likely the reason Jimmer didn't play. They have a new addition to their family.

The newest addition to our family Taft Russell Fredette! Couldn’t be more excited today! Whitney and Taft are both doing great. And Wesley loves him already! What an amazing blessing… https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvmt9-iBIY-/?utm_source=ig_twitter_share&igshid=l1846c0ptmga …

Jimmer should be available for the Grizzlies game.

Newsy nuggets from Igor at #Suns practice: Josh Jackson practiced and there’s optimism he will play tomorrow vs. Memphis (officially listed as questionable on injury report). Jimmer Fredette was not here due to the birth of his son, but is expected to be available tomorrow.

So to make sure the timeline is correct, Jimmer left after the Wizards game.

Jimmer Fredette update: With family as they had their 2nd baby. Igor Kokoskov said he expects him back tomorrow for shootaround. He left right after Wednesday's game to be with wife. #Suns

I wonder if that was part of why Jimmer sucked. That last week or two of waiting on the edge of your seat for the misses to finally have that kid is nerve wracking, it might even be worse with a second kid because you know what to expect that time. I guess that could vary depending on how long the first labor lasted also. Regardless, having a wife at home who is ready to have a kid any day takes over your mind. Maybe without having to worry about getting that phone call during halftime or a time out will allow him to focus on the game a bit more.

I suspect you are right. Jimmer probably didn't play the Washington game because of his wife expecting a child.

When Tyer Johnson arrived it took him awhile to adapt. It might be the same with Jimmer.

Eh, I think Jimmer sucked because he sucks. Hope I am wrong.

I agree with Stefan. Jimmer sucked because he sucks.

Jimmer is a player who cannot function without the ball in his hands, he also cannot penetrate, he doesn't pass, he doesn't defend, he doesn't even try to play off the ball. Jimmer's game is to dribble, do almost nothing to fake out his defender, then jack up a long, contested shot.

Even in the NBA, with it's brutal defensive rules, that isn't going be effective on most nights. Hell, as good as a shooter as Curry is, he would be easy to defend if he never passed and didn't move without the ball... and Jimmer isn't Curry.

If something was weighing on his mind as he went 1-10 I suspect it was something like "Holy crap! These guys are a lot harder to shooter over than the dudes in China!"

I've got no problem with signing him at this stage of the season, we are out of the race and running out of bodies, but there are reasons Jimmer hasn't been seen on an NBA court in years... we're seeing them.

lol this.

He’s not an NBA player if he was trust me he’d be on a roster he would be one of the more easy players to market

. . . in college and China. Hasn’t ever proved he could do either in the NBA.
I mean he put up 41 against an NBA team in preseason and shooting should translate at all levels. I'm not proclaiming that he is a star in hiding or anything, but I think it is fair to say that if he was averaging 10 FGAs per game that he would make far more than 1 of them.

Shooting translates but defense gets much much more tougher in the NBA and that’s where the whole being able to get your own shot thing comes into play
