Here's the next 8 games:

- Portland
- Houston
- LAC
- Washington
- Chicago
@ Golden State
- Memphis
@ Portland

We catch a huge break with Portland
Mike Richman @mikegrich

Here's the full quote from Stotts re: LMA: "He won’t be traveling to Phoenix and hopefully there will be some determination this afternoon."
https://twitter.com/mikegrich/status/557643222617718784

Now, barring an injury, that Memphis game is automatically a loss since we know Grizz don't lose to the Suns ever since acquiring Z-Bo to pair with Gasol. We can get super close to beating them but the win won't actually happen.

Both Portland games are winnable imo. Here's how I'm guessing it (and I'm being positive than realistic with this prediction):

W Portland
L Houston
W LAC
W Washington
L Chicago (if Noah still doesn't play by then, we can win this one)
L Golden State
L Memphis
W Portland

4-4 during this 8 game stretch.

I'm thinking at least 3 of the 4 losses will be in close games which the Suns choke away the lead or do something stupid to hand the other team the win like many of their losses this year.

Bulls have lost 6 of the last 8, including dropping games against Orlando and Utah. They're fighting injuries so I think there's an opportunity there.

The very premise of the poll seems to be how many victories the Suns small lineups can eek out during the season.

In other words, how well they can do compared to other marginal teams.

I am more concerned with the Suns developing a foundation of bell-to-bell strength, right through the playoffs.

I know that puts me in the minority with Suns fans, just as it has for decades. But I refuse to give up. :hulk:

I am so confused. From my perspective it appears that you just looked at a red wall and said you prefer broccoli. How in the world did you get from that poll to your traditional rant?

I am saying that I can't get excited about a poll based upon how many victories our troubled team can eek out over the next 8 games.

So a difference of opinion is now a rant to you? You have stuck to your convictions just as strongly as I have stuck to mine.

Uh oh, it looks like Darth Vader has recruited you to the Dark Side. :D

Oh I would definitely call your side a rant considering how often you've brought it up and how often you take a conversation down that path. I'm not even challenging your position, just the fact you've taken the conversation there once again. There is no connection that I can see here to your long-held position and a simple poll asking how many times a team will win in a stretch of 8 games. Seriously BC, I enjoy reading much of what you write but your obsession dominates almost your every post these days.

seconded.

Our "struggling" team has won 13 of 17, has been playing more traditional lineups, made a move for another big in Wright and STILL literally every single post from BC is the same thing. Bottom line is he's not going to be happy until we get the second coming of Shaquille O'Neal, which apparently is one of the easier things to do that our franchise has never quite understood nor even remotely considered a good way to go.

'Sorry, but I've seen too many articles labeling Wright as 210 pounds (despite posts which say that he looks like 240) to jump to the conclusion that he is going to change the perception of the Suns from an undersized team.

glad that you've read all those articles, but have you WATCHED the games? That guy ain't 210... isn't listed as 210 in ANY player profile I've found on the web and is a presence in the middle... AND Horny has been using him in tandem with Plumlee, another big.

again, I know you would have liked for them to have traded dogcrap and 2nd rounders for Dwight Howard, but getting Wright for peanuts was a move designed to SPECIFICALLY address what you're always harping on and you still want to bash it.

Suns roster on ESPN lists Wright as 210 lbs, if you want to see it in 'print'. I've seen him referred to as having that weight a couple of other places, too. I think he's closer to 240 than he is 210.

It's a tough 8 game stretch... 4-4 is a win, anything better is gravy... I'm hoping for at least 5-3.

The Suns are playing well lately, but they've had a fairly easy schedule so far this year. These next 8 games will tell us just how good this team is and whether or not they have any chance of holding off OKC for the final playoff spot.

Five games into this stretch, and the Suns are 3-2. I predicted they would go 3-5, with the three wins coming in the (seemingly most winnable) games against Portland, Washington and Chicago, and thus far the Suns have been right on the mark. That would also imply they will lose the next three. A 3-5 run seemed most likely, but also disappointing. Now the Suns get three chances to improve on that scenario.

Logically, the next three are losses--at least the next two, but Portland could be tough too.

The @Suns finished 10-5 for the month of January, their first 10-win January since going 11-5 in January 2008.

And so they end up 3-5, losing every game they were expected to lose, and winning the three that appeared the easiest. Disappointing but predictable outcome.

This team likes to go on roller coaster rides. If you go back 17 it looks pretty good but as slin stated 4th easiest schedule. I have not had time to look but it would be interesting to look at rough patches in the schedule to see how those stretches by themselves look.
