I am having stuffed chicken breast, grilled portobello mushrooms that have been marinating all day and some grilled asparagus with Erin. ;)

This is one of the best batches Ive ever made. A nicely fatty pork shoulder, hatch chilis from last season from my freezer. San Marzano tomatoes. Charred flour tortilla. Damn I love green chili. Chipotle tomorrow.

Freeze it up, ship it on dry ice, and send some to me!

See above, suckah. and I still have a pint left. I decided the other day while prepping a corned beef and cabbage fest for Paddys day, Id do double time on the stoves and braise some pork shoulder for stew. Glad I did. Ive been a lazy turd this week in terms of cooking dinner. Good to have stuff in the fridge. Tonight it looks like hangar steaks and sauteed arugula. I need a starch though.

One of these days I'm going to get around to making this. Only thing that has stopped me in the past was my inability to get serrano peppers at Fry's, because Fry's sucks.

Oh, and hey...since chances are VERY good that when I 'get around to it' will be for a tailgate next year, can I omit the cilantro (since it makes Donald puke) or make some sort of substitution?

I'm sure it won't be hard to substitute someone else for Donald.

:biglaugh:

True, but his wife & baby are usually with him, and they are pretty cool, so I'm afraid we're stuck with Donald.

You dont want to use Serranos. Seranos burn without all the chili flavor goodness. You need Poblanos, if Hatch green chillies are out of season. Or, in August, go buy a case of hatch chillies, roasted and peeled and keep em in your freezer like I do.

Cilantro is totally optional.

Wait. Serranos and cilantro. Are you looking at the from scratch version of my recipe? Where you make the green salsa, and blanche and peel fresh tomatoes for this thing? Cause I rarely if ever do it that way. I have a great lazy mans way as well....

Yes. Would you be willing to PM me the lazy man's way? I'm all about shortcuts.
