I think he plays well and we win (probably a close one) so I chose the only option that has him playing well and us winning. :D

If we start winning the game we need to pull him for Bartel or SCUD. If we're going to tank lets do it right.

Second coming of John Navarre, another guy who was thought to be the savior of an awful season.

We already had our shot at "Rudy II: The Sequel" and he's on IR. Thinking we're going right into "Rudy III" is too pie in the sky for me.

Of course, as usual I hope I'm wrong.

a alte pick rookie whom our own coach has been hiding all season saying he is nowhere near ready. Whom we are forced to start because we have no more options.
Any DC worth his salt is going to bring the house every play until Skelton proves he can beat it,...then he is going to switch to a zone blitz so the DE's can take the pick on the quick slants. Then back to the jailbreak blitz.
Our inept coaching staff had better come prepared with a half a million screens and rollouts or young Mr Skelton will be doubting his career choices by halftime,....and questioning his own manhood by the flight home.

I agree.

I just talked to a friend in CO who is a big Broncos fan. He said the team is in total disarray with the coach problem and injuries. I'm actually starting to hear that little thing called "Hope" fluttering in my heart.

(Or that could just be last night's Christmas tamales.)

Skelton is going to go off tomorrow!

Not just because of his superior quartbacking abilities (and what I hope is a functional gameplan for a change), but because our receivers will be busting thier asses to get open for a change.

If we can score, the defense will wake up as well.

Cards 23
Broncos 16

I think he plays well, relatively speaking (ie for a raw rookie, on this team with a crappy oline and even worse defense).

Prediction: 225 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 20 yds rushing

Both INTs to Bailey. He's never faced a smarter, more talented CB and it's going to surprise the Hell out of him.

...but we ultimately lose, and possibly big, to a re-invigorated Donkey team. (see Cowboys, Vikes for recent examples of teams that turned it around on a dime after going away from a coach that lost the team). I think the Denver players are going to come out and try to show the NFL that the problems earlier in the season weren't the players but the coach.

So wait...

Skeleton plays well enough to win against a Bronco's team in more disarray than our team. Then we go to Carolina and play the worst team in the NFL, a team which has scored almost 50 less points than the second lowest scoring team (us). (I think it is 156 to 200). We can win that one, too. Then Xmas day, at home, excitement and noise against another bad team... we could rattle off 3 wins in a row, with Skeleton never playing better than mediocre.

Then what? If he doesn't pull some 300 yard, 2 touch down games out of this, but instead throws 180 with 1&1 and we win 3 times... do we have a QB of the future? I think this, as much as anything, could be what Whisenhunt feared when he said Skelton was not ready.

Not only will he play well enough for us to eek out a win, we'll win at Carolina and lose the next 2 to finish 5-11 and out of the top 5 and his game play against 2 horrible teams will give this coaching staff false hope that our future QB problems are solved and not want to draft one of the potential studs coming out and Whiz will draft another marginal player.

Cards will lose in an historic blowout. As mentioned above its a never ending theme that the Cards will right any team's ship no matter how badly its listing. On top of that their QB is under a lot of pressure as being a stat padding QB that doesn't win many games. The criticism is largely valid IMO but he'll be highly motivated and good enough to carve us to pieces tomorrow and win this game in a big way. Denver's defense will also play well and eat Skelton alive. This will be his only NFL start. The upside is we won't lose any ground in the draft and we won't have to hear any nonsense about how Skelton is the QBOF.

You know you are talking about a QB who was inactive and was rushed into the game after Hall's injury and promptly completes a 22 yard pass to Breaston. Then after a false start finds Fitz for another 19. 2-2 41 yards fresh off the bench with no reps with the first team in practice.

:koolaid:

Of course then they go right back to being the Cards of 2010 as TH has another of his patented 0 yard runs, Levi False Starts and our QB throws 2 incomplete passes.

:pullhair:

He plays well and we win....not really your first option but that's the only one that is close.

He plays ok...not great, not bad. Looks like a promising rookie. Defense shows up. We win the game.

I fear this very likely scenario.
