Anyone got it yet? I just picked it up tonight. Amazing game. The physics and how you can react with everything are just great.

My hubby used to be very much into Half Life, then he got Xbox. He hasn't played a PC game since we got Xbox. Perhaps it's the same situation with others on here also.

Could be. New games like Doom 3 and Half Life 2 require a pretty good system to run too, and most-likely only computer geeks like me who build our own systems buy HL2. :) Where the hell is Cardinals.Ken?!

Lemme guess, Halo 2 is your current Xbox addiction? We often have it being played in two different rooms in my house (hubby in one room, his bro in the other)!

nope - i've been playing this game called Gladius. it's funny half-life on the pc was the only 1st person shooter game that i've ever liked - i really don't care for them otherwise. didn't like halo when i played it in the past so i wasn't going to buy halo2.

Wow! Cool! Gladius then. What's it about, what kind of game is it?

your character is a gladiator and you have to travel from town to town competing in gladitorial games. you build up your school through recruiting other characters to help you in the gladiator fights and competitions. basically you keep competing against the local competition trying to eventually end up as the top ranked gladiator school in the land.

I built my own computer but don't like first person shooters. Warcraft 3 was the last PC game I really got into. I'm considering World of Warcraft but i tried Final Fantasy XI and wasn't to enthralled.

Actually I was a huge Team Fortress Classic fan. Is that in Half Life 2? If so I may go pick it up.

City of Heroes has all my attention right now.

Nope. All it has for its multiplayer component is a renewed version of Counter-Strike, called "Counter-Strike: Source." Someone is probably making TFC for HL2 as a mod, though. But I don't know for sure.

I got HL2 the day it came out via steam, but beyond playing for an hour or so the first day I went back and finished doom3 first before going back to HL2. I am at Nova Prospekt now in HL2.

I got the silver edition from steam so I could make sure that I would get Day of Defeat Source when it comes out. I am really looking forward to that.

I'm kind of dissapointed by how many people just play xbox games and playstation 2 games... For one thing computers are more advanced so you can get better, higher resolution graphics from them.. plus you can get a complexity in the games that you can't get from either xbox or playstation 2... Example... Baldur's gate series on xbox vs Baldur's gate series on the Computer.. Computer version, get to control six players, create them from scratch if you like or have really unique characters join your party, both good and evil.. There is a lot of strategy to this game and a really great story with 100's of spells, feats, powers etc etc. Xbox Baldur's gate? One character and it's just a hack and slash game that takes about a 6th of the time to complete if that and was much much easier to make..you just keep pushing the buttons at your enemies and you'll be done in notime. but hey if that's what people want why make the more complex games that cost more money?
