No thread for this? A film of the musical was released in early July on Disney+. Absolutely fantastic, I've been playing the soundtrack on my drive in to the office pretty frequently since it came out. I'm sure it's even better live in an actual theater. My wife was able to take her 8th grade class to see it when the musical was performing in San Francisco earlier this year. She said it was one of the best musicals she's ever seen live and she's a huge fan of the theater.

My daughter can do the whole thing if asked. She loves it. I even learned how to do Guns and Ships and sprung it on her one day to impress her. Took me 3 weeks to get it down.

Fantastic!

We've been wanting to see it forever but tickets were so expensive and hard to come by. We have watched it 3 times now on Disney+ and it get better each time!

I'll admit I'm doing the "no, the famous thing can't be good like they say it is!" stubborn resistance thing. In truth, I'll break down and watch it sometime. I am worried it will be so built up by others it will disappoint.

Before watching this I had no idea what to expect other than it was about Alexander Hamilton.

My first viewing of it I actually hated the first 20 minutes and was trying to figure out what all of the buzz was about. It wasn't what I was expecting at all and it is kind of jarring at first. Once it got to the first scene with King George it really settled in for me and I loved the rest of it. It was almost like I had to allow that initial shock to wear off before I could enjoy it.

Watching it a second and third time and I fell in absolute love with it.

I really really want to see it live someday.

Dude..... I loved this. have re-watched certain portions over and over.

I think the two main Schuyler sisters (Phillipa & Renee) are freaking amazing.

Yeah I agree! My favorite is the guy who plays Jefferson though.

The last time I watched it I turned the CC on. My hearing is shot from working on loud diesel military vehicles so I would miss a few lines. Was able to better follow the dialog with the CC turned on and caught things that I missed before.

It reminds me of when they would try and show us videos of people rapping telling us to not do drugs in school.

as someone who grew up on hip hop I find it very corny

Funny you should say that because Lin (Lin-Manuel?) got his start on the revamped Electric Company and rapped about letters and stuff.
(Again, I know this because my daughter is a big fan...)

That is a great find.

Loved this show. The George Washington entrance was my favorite part. I told myself I'm going to memorize the lyrics to Right Hand Man.

Started watching this about a week and a half ago, but my five-year old needed my attention so I had to hit pause. Loved what I saw. Gotta get around to watching the rest of it this weekend.

My wife and I had seen Hamilton live a couple years ago live but watched it again on Disney+. Fantastic!

The guy who plays King George III was the voice of Kristoff in the Frozen franchise.

He's also the lead actor in the Netflix series Mindhunter.

Very good in season 1. And ok in season 2 so far.
